Design ideas brought to life
Great interior space has extraordinary effects in our everyday living and productivity. PG Design Studio interior designs use space, lighting, color, materials and furnishing to create appealing environments that are pleasing to the eye. PGDS’s team has produced work with styles ranging from contemporary to traditional environments, with a focus on interior detailing, strong finish selections and hand-selected furnishings. PG Design Studio’s look translates to all types of projects including private residences, retail and condominiums.
This phase is critical to determining the scope of the work and identifying the project team. Understanding the detailed path of the project provides the basis of the project timeline. The clients’ aesthetic wishes for the project, level of detail, finishes, function needs, furnishing style, budgetary requirements and identifying preferred vendors are all key factors contributing to the success of your project.
Conception and Design Development
Plan review, space planning, mood imagery, and initial material palette ideas are developed. Sketches, elevations, ceiling designs, flooring patterns, furnishing mood and preliminary finish selections are developed for the key spaces. This phase pushes the design concept into every corner of the project to develop and understand all of the interior spaces and how each space will function. At this point in the project the main objective is to ensure the design and function needs are working together.
Construction / Installation / Implementation
The PGDS team works closely with the consultants and contractors. Problem solving, as needed, happens through all stages of the construction process. This phase also includes review of shop drawings and other consultant coordination as the reality of the spaces comes to life.
A preliminary set of documents are issued by the PG Design Studio team. This can include furniture plans, reference plans, ceiling plans, flooring and tile plans, lighting plans and interior elevations. Once the client has approved the design phases, the depth detailing of the project’s designs begins. In this phase the interior design drawings are fully coordinated with consultants and vendors as needed.
After the design details are developed and coordinated, the production of the working drawings is developed with the required construction information. In addition to the set of drawings, supplemental specification packages including plumbing, lighting, cabinetry, finishes and paint schedules are submitted. The documentation type is specifically tailored to the needs of the project and client.
